The Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) system is definitely the most problematic part fitted to almost all new diesel vehicles. The DPF filter sits in the exhaust and is designed to trap diesel particles (particulate soot matter) and stop it from escaping out the back of the exhaust and entering into our atmosphere. Although a great concept, the problems that come with the DPF system far outweigh the benefits and on some vehicles a replacement DPF filter from the dealers can cost you in excess of £3000!

I have a Toyota avensis tourer 2012 2ltr d4d I think I have a dpf fault as the code that came up was p1428 differential pressure sensor circuit high? I was wondering if removing the filter and re mapping the ecu was an option for me? Does this mean removing the 5th injector as Well?
Also what would be the price and timeframe for this service?

I’ve a volvo v50 1.6 d that’s just gone into limp mode. I took it to the local garage and they said the egr was blocked and this had blocked the dpf . I was looking for a quote for a removal of the dpf .

RE. 2011 Mecedes E250 7g start stop…. Had a so called DPF removal after problems with lights on/limp mode etc … Car has always been noisy since then… Is it possible to pur a silencer in the DOF housing or any alterbative solution … Sounds like a baffle missing … Suppose it is reallyvas the DPF would act as avrestructir ?
